The Royal Danish Naval Museum has one of the world's finest collections of naval models. The collection dates back to the late 17th century and gives an excellent general view of the technological development of the building of naval ships during the past centuries. From ships of the line to torpedo boats and from dredgers to support ships - all this can be seen in small scale at The Royal Danish Naval Museum.
The Danish Fleet has for generations inspired both famous and less famous painters like C. W. Eckersberg and Søren Brunoe. The Royal Danish Naval Museum has a beautiful collection of these works of art.
The museum also comprises exhibitions on later and recent times. On the second floor more can be learned about the Cold War. Sea mines and missiles were arms of the modern war. At the Royal Danish Naval Museum it's possible to see weapons and ships which would have been used if the Cold War had turned "hot".
A large number of dioramas show how the Naval Fleet influenced Copenhagen through centuries. Here you get an overview of the historical Copenhagen.
Visit the children's museum where children and childish people may sense the spirit of these days of the sailing ships. The canons on the children's ship are ready for battle.
